Do You Know of an Author Who Has Made a Difference to You and Others?

The Colorado Authors Hall of Fame depends on members of the public to nominate extraordinary authors for induction into the Hall. We are looking for authors who have made a difference to readers personally, professionally or in their workplaces, and who are connected to Colorado.

The Colorado Authors Hall of Fame inducts authors, past and present, who:

• Made significant and enduring contributions to their fields or for their genre.
• Helped open new frontiers for writing styles, solutions, ideas and concepts.
• Inspired others by the breadth of their writing and work.
• Advanced the status of authors and publishing.
• They were born in Colorado, currently live in Colorado, write about Colorado, and/or created one of their published works in Colorado using locations or events as a background.

Important:

Nominees need to be connected to Colorado in some way. As a nominator, you need to know about the ties of your nominee to Colorado through birth, residence, topic of book or by creating/working on books while living or visiting here. Final judging will be done on merit. If there is more than one author for a specific work, they can be nominated in a joint nomination, provided that the contribution for which they are being considered involved the efforts of all authors.

Authors nominated, but not selected, can be re-nominated another year.

Who Is On the Selection Process?

A diverse group of Colorado citizens and literary professionals is recruited to act as a Selection Committee. The Selection Committee reviews all nominations and selects the finalists for induction into the Colorado Authors Hall of Fame. Inductees are announced in March of odd-numbered years, and the Gala induction event will take place in the Fall of even-numbered years.

Nominations for 2027 induction open August 31, 2026 and will close on March 31, 2027.
